Connect WooCommerce

Connecting WooCommerce is what turns a generic chat widget into one that knows your store. It brings the product catalogue into the AI's knowledge base and opens the event path that abandoned-cart automations depend on.

Prerequisites

  • The PixelChat WordPress plugin installed and reporting a connected status.
  • WooCommerce active on the same site.
  • Permalinks set to a pretty structure — the WooCommerce REST API needs them.

Connect

  1. Go to Settings → WooCommerce in the PixelChat dashboard.
  2. Follow the connection flow to authorise access to the store.
  3. Run an initial product sync and wait for it to finish.
  4. Check Chatbot → Knowledge — synced products appear as product entries.
  5. Set the ongoing sync schedule to match how often your catalogue changes.

What you get once connected

  • The assistant can answer about real products rather than generic descriptions.
  • Order history appears on contact records, so operators have context.
  • Cart events reach the automation engine, which is what abandoned-cart recovery runs on.

Stock levels are as fresh as your sync

The knowledge base holds a snapshot, not a live feed. For fast-moving stock, sync more often and have the assistant link to the product page rather than assert availability.

Troubleshooting

  1. No products after a sync — confirm the WooCommerce REST API responds, and check that a security plugin is not blocking it.
  2. Partial sync — very large catalogues take multiple passes. Let the schedule run before assuming it failed.
  3. Cart events not arriving — confirm the plugin reports connected, then place a test order and watch the automation.

Does PixelChat write to my store?
No. The integration reads catalogue and order data and receives events. It does not modify products or orders.
How many products can it sync?
Large catalogues sync in batches across multiple passes rather than in one request.
Does this work on Shopify?
No. PixelChat is WordPress and WooCommerce first, and there is no Shopify integration.
